Andy Mars

is a photo artist who creates one-of-a-kind mixed-media artwork by integrating photography with watercolor and acrylic paints, pastel chalk, oils and pencils.  Her images are printed on various materials including textured papers and canvas as well as traditional photographic paper. 

She has photographed for a variety of organizations including Zale Corporation, Jason Rahm & Associates, The Healthy Pet Gourmet Website, Vancouver Pet Assisted Therapy, and Discovery Programs. 

A graduate of Brockport State College’s photography program, she studied at the New School with Lisette Modell, and at the International Center of Photography.  Her work has been exhibited at the Memorial Arts Museum in Rochester, NY and various Soho Gallery Restaurants. 

In order to realize her commitment to “giving back” to the community, Andy has volunteered her services by initiating the community service committee for the Professional Women Photographers organization, and providing pet and family portraits to raise money for the dogs who worked at the World Trade Center in the aftermath of 9/11.

Andy’s photo exhibit, “Passion” was held at the Umbrella Arts Gallery in November of 2006. Two exhibits in March of 2007 featured her work: “Elegy for Eden” sponsored by the Durst Organization at the Lobby Gallery, in New York City and the second show, “Indwelling: Living in a Female Body,” was held at The Cooper Union.  Her photo was selected by juror, renowned photographer Joyce Tenneson.  In June of 2007 Andy had an image exhibited in an Abstract show called Sans Narrative at the Gallery of the NY Mercantile Exchange. In February/March 2008 she had an image in the exhibit called 2007NewWork2008 at the Chelsea Gallery Space and the A.I.R. Gala Celebration & Exhibition at the Puck Building in NYC.

Andy is a single mom and lives in Manhattan with her two children.
